Cultural Arts Venues Steinway Worthy of a First Lady Rylander Theater, Americus, GA Steinway & Sons Model L The Steinway Piano Galleries was proud to assist in the delivery of a new Steinway Model L to the newly renovated historic Rylander Theater in Americus, Georgia. Americus, Georgia is a small town in south-central Georgia adjacent to Plains, home to President and Mrs. Carter. After receiving a call from President Carter, the Steinway Piano Galleries committed to fundraising efforts for this instrument. Phil Jones, a close personal friend of President and Mrs. Carter, visited Steinway Piano Galleries and requested aid in this effort. The Atlanta Steinway Society was privileged to provide outstanding concert pianists to perform at the February 3rd dedication ceremony in honor of former First Lady Roslynn Carter. Performing were John Innis, Gary Menzies, Amy Holloway, Neil Thompson, Christine Menedis, Dale Elliott, and 15-year-old Prodigy Award Recipient Roger Luo. In attendance were over 60 members of the Steinway Society. Representing Steinway Piano Galleries at the ceremony and reception for President and Mrs. Carter were William J. McCormick, Jr., Chairman of CEO; Barbara Kirby, Vice President; and Scott Madden, Institutional Sales Director.
