History of Steinway Piano Galleries...
In 1998, Steinway Piano Galleries, formerly The Piano Gallery, was acquired
by Jordan Kitt's Music headquartered in Washington, D.C., making it part of
what would become the nation's largest piano retailer, and opening up a variety
of new products, including Steinway pianos, and more competitive pricing to
the piano buyers of Atlanta.
Immediately following the acquisition, sales increased over 300 percent from
1998 to 1999. In January 2000, the company changed its name to Steinway Piano
Galleries and renovated a 14,000-square-foot facility in Sandy Springs which
it now calls home. Its 150-capacity Barbara Kirby Recital Hall hosts numerous
recitals by students of area teachers as well as Atlanta Steinway Society events
each year.
Today, the company remains part of the nation's largest piano retailer and continues to grow, thanks to the tens of thousands of customers who have trusted Steinway Piano Galleries with their most important musical investment.
